and Determination
Michael Brown served in the
U.S. Army for twenty years, retiring as a First
Sergeant at age 37. He was awarded the U.S. Army
Recruiting Ring, which is the highest award given
for exceptional performance. His last assignment
was Commanding Officer of the U.S. Army Recruiting
in Atlanta, Georgia, where he was responsible for
all recruiting activities for the five metro counties.
In 1985, he became a District Manager
with the Equitable Life Assurance Society. He and
Charles W. Moore organized a partnership known as
B&M Financial Services. Mr. Brown is a graduate
of Fayetteville State University where he earned
a Bachelor’s degree and subsequently a Masters Degree
in Adult Education from North Carolina State University.

Charles
W. Moore is a graduate of Morris Brown College,
and holds an MBA degree from New York University
Graduate School of Business Administration. He also
holds a MS degree in Human Resources Management
from the University of Utah. For over forty years,
he has been active in serving the needs of institutions
of higher education, especially HBCU’s. He served
two tenures as chief fiscal officer for Morris Brown
College, covering a period of more than twenty years.
He also served with distinction for 19 years in
a variety of positions with the U.S. Departments
of Education and Health and Human Services in Washington,
DC and Atlanta, Georgia. In 1968 and 1975, Mr. Moore
was named Alumnus of the Year by the Morris Brown
College National Alumni Association. He is actively
affiliated with many civic and religious organizations,
listed in Who’s Who among African Americans and
is the recipient of many other honors and awards.
